Ripple’s offices around the world (from New York to Dubai) have recently celebrated the company’s seventh anniversary.
Ripple CTO David Schwartz posted a photo in his Space Fort shirt that he wore during the celebration. Schwartz worked alongside Jed McCaleb during the inception stage of the company’s payment protocol.
Over these seven years, the company went from a little-known cryptocurrency startup to a cross-border payment heavyweight. During the peak of the crypto craze in December 2017, Ripple’s executives, namely Chris Larsen and Brad Garlinghouse, ended up with multi-billion fortunes after the XRP token skyrocketed by over 7,000 percent in one year.
Fast forward to 2019, Ripple is doing just fine with over global 200 banking partners. Its native token XRP, which is still significantly down from its ATH, remains the third biggest cryptocurrency with a market cap of $12.73 bln.
As reported by U.Today, Ripple made an appearance on LinkedIn’s top start-ups list for the second year in a row in 2019.
