The Litecoin Foundation is stepping into philanthropy by teaming up with UNICEF Kid Power, the initiative that shows how children can make a difference.
The main purpose of Kid Power, which was launched in 2014, is to teach kids how they can give a helping hand to their less fortunate peers around the globe. Those who take part in the program are encouraged to wear the UNICEF Kid Power Band, which records different physical activities on a mobile app.
The most active kids are rewarded with the biggest amount of points (about 2,400 steps are required for earning one). After collecting 25 points, they will be able to send a 100-gram food package to malnourished children and save their lives.
Because of the recent partnership, the foundation will take this initiative to a whole new level by handing out 125,000 Kid Power Coins to Las Vegas schools during the upcoming 2019 Litecoin Summit, which is slated for Oct. 28-29.
We are thrilled to collaborate with Litecoin Foundation to empower a new generation of global citizens,” said Rajesh Anandan, Creator of UNICEF Kid Power and Vice President of UNICEF Ventures.
The kids who own these coins will be able to make valuable contributions to their local communities, such as planting trees and offering basic health services.
