This was likely to happen sooner or later. The notorious figure of the crypto industry, John McAfee who is bold enough to criticize the US government on Twitter, promising to reveal data compromising its members and then going on the run from the CIA and the IRS, is now trolling Justin Sun and his manner of doing social media marketing.

An announcement of an announcement from McAfee

On Wednesday, U.Today reported that the former antivirus mogul John McAfee promised the community to soon reveal something that he had been working hard for a year, despite being on the run from the IRS, changing ‘safe homes’ in different countries and actually being one of the current US presidential candidates.

Later on, McAfee posted a mocking tweet about ‘an announcement of an announcement’ with a picture of Justin Sun. The Tron founder is well known in the community for frequently announcing future announcements. Sun is often criticized for that, as some assume that he was trying to manipulate the TRX price by doing that.

Some in the comment thread took McAfee’s mentioning Justin Sun seriously and started criticizing them both.

McAfee preparing a surprise for the community

The crypto baron is going to announce something he has been working on for a year early next week. However, taking into account the scale of topics this man is prepared to discuss with his followers, it is even hard to assume what he is going to reveal.

In a recent interview, McAfee admitted that he had given up working on his ‘Freedom coin’ that U.Today wrote about earlier. However, the ‘crypto lord’ stands firm on his forecast that Bitcoin will be worth $1 mln by the end of 2020 – that was confirmed in public twice: in a tweet and in a recent Forbes interview.

Former US Congressman Ron Paul shares his thoughts on the possible creation of Fed’s own cryptocurrency

Former US Congressman Ron Paul spoke on Fox Business and said that the Fed should not think about creating its own cryptocurrency.

Fed’s Crypto: To Be or Not To Be?

Rumors have been circulating for the past few months about the Fed possibly creating own cryptocurrency. It is expected that a digital coin would become a competitor to its counterparts on the market, and may even replace fiat money. President Patrick Harker, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, commented on such rumors at a recent conference:

“It is inevitable. I think it is better for us to start getting our hands around it.”

However, there has not been no official follow-up by the Fed towards a crypto exchange. While proponents of this idea believe such innovation is necessary, it is expected that the exchange could stop the current delays involving US bank transfers.

What do the opponents think about the Fed's own cryptocurrency?

The idea of creating the Fed's cryptocurrency has its opponents. This includes Ron Paul, who believes that the Fed is in a better position to stay away from digital coins and allow the private blockchain sector and payment platforms to resolve this discussion in real-time. What the Fed plans to do next is unclear, but the central bank may still enter the game.
